Parcel lockers and delivery in Estonia
Estonian buyers collect from parcel lockers rather than waiting at home for a courier. The main networks are Omniva and SmartPosti, with DPD and Venipak also operating lockers. Delivery is priced by locker size class, so the packed dimensions of a product decide its shipping cost more than its weight does.
Why lockers, and not couriers
A parcel locker is an unattended cabinet in a supermarket car park, a petrol station or a shopping centre. The buyer receives a code, opens a compartment, takes the parcel, and is done. There is no delivery window, no waiting, no redelivery.
In Estonia this is the default rather than a cheap alternative. A checkout that offers courier-to-door only is asking the buyer to accept a worse experience than they get everywhere else.
It also lowers cost. A locker delivery avoids the failed-delivery and redelivery cost that makes home delivery expensive.

How many lockers, and how to check
Published locker counts go stale within months, so the number below is not the point. The method is. Both operators publish their live location data, and counting it takes a minute.

Omniva publishes its full Baltic location list as JSON at omniva.ee/locations.json, which held 1,444 locations across the three countries on that date, 471 of them Estonian and 167 of those in Harju county alone. SmartPosti exposes its Estonian locations through the location endpoint behind its own locker map. Refetch either and count; that is a more reliable number than any figure quoted in an article, including this one.
For scale against the rest of the market, the Estonian E-Commerce Association, compiling monthly volumes with all four operators, puts Omniva at about 45 per cent of parcel-machine volume, DPD and SmartPosti each in the 27 to 28 per cent range depending on the month, and Venipak at 3 per cent.
Size classes decide the price
Locker pricing works on compartment size. A parcel is charged by which compartment it fits into, so packed dimensions matter more than weight for most consumer goods.
The practical consequence for a manufacturer is that packaging design has a direct effect on Estonian shipping cost. A product that just fits a medium compartment ships cheaper than one that is a centimetre too large for it.

Omniva now quotes weight limits through its price calculator rather than as a published table, so check a specific parcel there rather than assuming a class limit.

How long does delivery take?
Roughly 3 to 5 days from stock held in Estonia, and roughly 7 to 12 days when dropshipping from an EU manufacturer.
Can I ship direct from Germany to an Estonian parcel locker?
Yes. The constraint is not the border, it is the transit time and the checkout integration needed to let the buyer pick a specific locker at the point of purchase.
